A useful issue report
State whether you chose four or five bands, list each active color in order and identify which result differs from your expectation. For example: four bands, yellow, violet, red, gold; expected nominal 4700 Ω and interval 4465 to 4935 Ω. Include the browser name if a display, role-change, copy or download behavior is involved.
Use color names rather than relying only on a photograph or screenshot. Screen colors are approximate, and the tool does not identify a physical component or determine its reading direction. Written roles help distinguish a gold multiplier from a gold tolerance band.
Check the declared reference
This calculator deliberately follows a named Vishay reference table, including gray 0.05% tolerance. Other code families or markings may differ. Leading black significant bands, absent tolerance, six-band temperature coefficients, SMD codes, military or fuse markings and other special families are outside this tool. The guide links the source tables and explains that supported combinations do not prove manufacture or availability.
The arithmetic interval comes from the selected nominal value and marked tolerance. It is not a meter reading, a prediction of environmental effects or a power, voltage or current rating. Please compare the result to that declared model rather than treating it as circuit design advice.
Share only what is needed
A short invented sequence is normally enough. Do not email passwords, customer records, confidential circuit designs or private project details. Messages use email and forwarding providers, outside the browser-local calculation boundary. No promised response time or support contract applies, and feedback does not guarantee a change or authorize public posting.
The worked examples cover fractional multipliers and exact endpoints. The guide documents roles and limits, and the privacy page explains local state and optional exported notes.
