Read a band code
one role at a time.
Decode a manually chosen four or five-band sequence. See its significant digits, multiplier, nominal resistance and arithmetic interval from the marked tolerance.
1. Choose the ordered bands
A specific reference, not a universal identifier
This is the declared Vishay four/five-band convention. Gray tolerance means 0.05% in this table. Leading black, absent tolerance, six-band and special marking families are outside this tool.

Marked value is not a measurement
A supported selection gives a mathematical interpretation of a named reference table. It does not prove the component's code family, orientation, actual resistance, availability or power rating. It does not recommend a circuit configuration.
Understand the roles and formula or check original worked examples, including fractional multipliers and the declared gray tolerance.
